1. What Is MUME ?
Mume is a player versus player text-based rpg based on J.R.R Tolkien's Middle Earth.In it, you can play as a minion of Sauron or one of the Free People. You can play as a Dwarf, Elf, Hobbit, or Man and be a citizen of the super cities of the western world : Blue Mountains, Grey Havens, The Shire, Bree, Fornost, Tharbad and Rivendell... Or you can play as a Black Numenorean, Orc, Troll and live in the darkest places of Middle Earth bring Chaos to some good cities like Bree ... Mouhahahahaha !

2. How to Play ?
You can just enter the the game on www.mume.org, logging on with Telnet or with a client like the one I use : Powtty.



4. The Basic Commands
There's a lot of commands in MUME and here is a list of the most common and with their function :
(take note that x and y are used as variable...)

• look --> used to look the room you're in, to look at x (l x), to look in x (l in x) or to look at adjacent rooms with n,s,e,w,u,d as x (l x)

• exit --> to see the exits of a room.

• where --> To know what characters are in the same zone as you.

• remove --> To remove a piece of eq. i.e. : to remove a lantern(x) from your belt(y) (rem x y) or simply a weapon(x) you are holding (rem x).

• wear --> To wear a piece of equipment(x) (wear x).

• wield --> To wield a weapon(x) (wield x).

• hold --> To hold something(x) (hold x).

• practice --> To put practice points in skills(x). i.e. : Near a weaponmaster --> prac slashing.

• hit / kill --> to start a fight with a mobile(x) or a player(x) (hit x).

• fill --> To fill lantern(x) with oil when having a flask of oil. (fill x)

• pour --> To fill a container(x) with a source of water (pour x y). i.e. : Near a well with a cup --> pour well cup.

• trophy --> To see all that you've killed.

• statistic --> To see your Stats.

• information --> To see more Stats than the command stat.

• score --> To see some Stats.

• equipment --> To see all that you're wearing, holding, wielding.

• inventory --> To see what you have.

• rent --> Near an Innkeeper, disconnect you from game.

• follow --> To follow someone(x) (fol x).

• spam and brief --> Make description of rooms smaller, etc.

• light --> Make you light something(x) (light x). i.e. : To light a lantern --> light lantern.

• snuf --> To unlit a lantern(x) (snuf x).

• butcher --> To butcher an animal(x) for meat or fur/pelt (butcher x).
